As the calendar turns from 2018 to 2019, the Valhalla Fire District’s Board of Commissioners would like express their gratitude to the men of the Valhalla Fire Department. Members of the department had a very active year, responding to 424 alarms this year. This included structure fires, motor vehicle accidents, odors of gas, hazmats, and many other calls. Often overlooked, these men volunteer their time to respond to these types of calls at all times of the day. Not only do the members respond to alarms, they attend monthly meetings and drills, as well as weekly equipment checks. In total the Valhalla Fire Department had a total of 10,411.5 man hours. The amount of time and dedication these men give to the department show how tight-knit of a community Valhalla is. These members are the people you see in the store, your neighbors, and your friends. At any time they can be called to respond to an emergency. It is with great appreciation that the Board of Fire Commissioners and Residents of Valhalla thank the members of the department for everything they do for the community.
