18 years ago, our country faced one of the darkest days in our history. What started out as a beautiful day turned into one of tragedy. As we look back on that day, we remember those who we lost. We remember the people who went to work that day and never came home. We remember the 343 firefighters, 23 police officers, 37 Port Authority officers, 15 EMTs, 3 Court Officers and Fire patrol member who ran toward danger to save others. Each September 11th it is our duty as Americans to never forget those people and the numerous heroic acts that occurred that day. The Valhalla Fire Department along with other Westchester Fire Departments hold this day close to our hearts as equipment and personnel assisted FDNY that day and the days to follow. We remember 9/11. We shall never Forget.
