The Valhalla Fire Department was dispatched to the area of the MTA Metro-North Railroad Train Station for a reported brush fire on the tracks. Upon arrival of units it was found that a vehicle had driven onto the tracks and caught on fire when the fence it went through and the car itself landed on the third rail. The driver was able to reverse off the tracks before the on coming North Bound train pulled into the station. The train struck the metal fence and damaged the third rail further as well as damaged the undercarriage of the train. Valhalla Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Westchester EMS checked the driver of the vehicle for injuries but they refused medical attention. There was no injuries reported on the train. Crews extinguished the fire and assisted Mt. Pleasant Police Department New York and MTA Police and Fire at the scene. Passengers on the train were transfered to another northbound train due to the damage to the original train.
